Product Description

Buy authentic Flashforge ASA Basic filament in Nigeria and Ghana. Achieve exceptional UV stability, weather resistance, and high durability for outdoor 3D prints. Official Generative CAD support.
Unlock true outdoor capability with Flashforge ASA Basic Filament. Designed primarily for demanding environments and engineering-grade applications, this highly durable 1.75mm material is the ultimate upgrade over standard ABS. ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) introduces exceptional UV stability and weather resistance, ensuring that your functional prints will not degrade, yellow, or become brittle even when exposed to prolonged sunlight and harsh African weather conditions.

Why Choose the Flashforge ASA Basic - 3D Printing Filament?
When printing parts that need to survive the elements, standard PLA melts under the sun, and ABS gradually weakens and discolors under UV rays. Flashforge ASA Basic is engineered to solve these exact problems. It offers all the highly desirable mechanical properties of ABS—including extreme toughness and high heat resistance—but adds a permanent protective barrier against ultraviolet light and environmental wear. Whether you are fabricating automotive exterior fixtures in Lagos or heavy-duty outdoor enclosures in Accra, ASA guarantees your parts will maintain their structural integrity and appearance over time.

Core Features & Benefits
High UV & Weather Resistance: Unlike ABS, which rapidly degrades under UV light, ASA is designed to handle intense sunlight and outdoor exposure without losing mechanical strength.

Exceptional Toughness: Offers robust impact resistance and high rigidity, making it highly resilient against physical stress, snapping, and wear.

High Heat Deflection: Withstands demanding thermal environments, maintaining its shape and structural integrity up to temperatures near 93°C.

Chemical Resistance: Highly resistant to everyday corrosive elements, oils, and alcohols, ensuring longevity in industrial or automotive settings.

Who is the Flashforge ASA Basic Built For?
Automotive Engineers & Mechanics: Perfect for printing replacement car parts, exterior mirror housings, and custom grilles that face direct sunlight and high heat.

Outdoor Equipment Designers: Ideal for manufacturing durable gardening tools, weather-station housings, brackets, and drone components.

Functional Hardware Innovators: Businesses needing rigid, impact-resistant mechanical prototypes that require long-term environmental exposure without degrading.

The Generative CAD (GCAD) Advantage
Printing with advanced engineering materials requires top-tier filament quality. As the official Flashforge distributor in Nigeria and Ghana, Generative CAD provides you with vacuum-sealed, factory-fresh spools of ASA Basic, ensuring optimal printing performance right out of the box. Purchasing through GCAD guarantees rapid local delivery across West Africa and exclusive technical support. Our team can help you dial in the perfect slicer settings and enclosure temperatures, ensuring your ASA parts print flawlessly without warping or splitting.

Product Maintenance

ASA is a high-performance material that requires specific conditions to print reliably. Follow these expert guidelines:

Use an Enclosed Printer: ASA is highly sensitive to ambient temperature fluctuations. It is strongly recommended to print it inside a fully enclosed 3D printer (like the Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro) to trap heat and drastically reduce the risk of edge warping and layer splitting.

Secure Bed Adhesion: Always use a glue stick or a dedicated ASA/ABS adhesive solution on a clean PEI build plate. For models with sharp corners or a large footprint, add a brim in your slicer settings to keep the first layer firmly locked down.

Ventilation & Safety: Similar to ABS, extruding ASA releases styrene fumes and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Always print in a well-ventilated space or ensure your enclosed printer is equipped with an active carbon air filtration system.

Slicer Profile Workaround: If your 3D printer's default slicing software doesn't show an explicit "ASA" profile, simply select the standard ABS profile, clone it, and slightly tweak the nozzle temperature higher (240°C–260°C) to match ASA's requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Is ASA better than ABS?

Answer: Yes, for outdoor applications. While they share similar strength and heat resistance, ASA is heavily preferred for exterior use because it is UV-resistant and weather-proof. ABS will yellow and become brittle in the sun, whereas ASA will retain its strength and color.

Question: Do I absolutely need an enclosure to print ASA?

Answer: While it is technically possible to print very small ASA parts on an open-frame printer by turning off the cooling fan and using draft shields, a fully enclosed printer is highly recommended for reliable, warp-free results—especially for medium to large parts.

Question: Can I use standard PLA support material for ASA prints?

Answer: No. Because ASA requires very high bed (100°C+) and nozzle (240°C+) temperatures, PLA support material would simply melt and fail. Use HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) as a breakaway or dissolvable support material, as it shares similar temperature requirements with ASA.
